After the overwhelming response to our Hamfests in 2011, and 2012 the Southern Counties Amateur Radio Association is ready to do it again in 2013!

This year the venue has changed do to construction at our previous location. We will be at Holy Spirit High School in Absecon, NJ. Click on the  directions link  to view an interactive on-line map.

Jim Fogle, KC2YRV, proposed the idea for this event in the latter part of 2010 and was met with some opposition by those who said, “It couldn’t be done” or “It’s a lot of work.”   Wrong words to have said to Jim.   He always met a challenge head on.   He put a team together and got the word out by traveling to various other Hamfests, spending many  hours on the phone, etc.   While getting ready for an Amateur Radio Event in September of 2011, Jim suffered a fatal heart attack.  His wife Lynn, KC2ZJW, and the rest of the team have worked hard to keep Jim's dream alive and help this  Hamfest grow bigger and better.  SCARA felt it was only right to name the event in his honor.
